Despite promises of a bright future for Charlton Athletic when Thomas Sandgaard took over in September 2020, fans fear the club may be stalled by a lack of investment once again.
Sandgaard promised to take Charlton back into the Premier League, but the club have remained in League 1 after seventh and 13th place finishes in the last two seasons.
The Addicks form has been patchy again this season, winning just five league games, but they still sit ninth, just four points off the play-offs.
Charlton fan Peter Cockle said: “Sandgaard was naïve in not naming a director of football, running a football club is not like running any other business and he has learnt that the hard way.
“But if he keeps his promises and we do get top six and possibly promotion through the play-offs, then I believe fans will be happy again.”
It was also believed that he would purchase both the training ground and the stadium of ex owner Roland Duchatalet after takeover.
However, after reports that Duchatalet wanted around £35million for both, Sandgaard took the option to rent both for the next 15 years, leaving fans questioning if he has that sum of money to help Charlton truly progress.
After not spending any money on transfers in the summer and choosing the options of loans, this has left Charlton with a serious lack of squad depth, and manager Ben Garner admitted that finishing in the top six would be over-achievement with the squad available.
Garner, who was only appointed in June, has made it very clear that further signings are needed to be made in the upcoming January window
He has also said he wishes to have a meeting with Sangaard in regard to the club moving forwards.
