A popular flea market has returned to Peckham, as flea market culture becomes trendier in London.
Peckham Salvage Yard market, which is run by vintage events company Hackney Flea Market, has been coming to Peckham’s Copeland Park and Bussey Building for nine years, and attracts bargain hunters and shoppers from all corners of London coming to find one of a kind pieces.
Hackney Flea Market founder, Mark Farhall, started the company in 2013 to provide a creative space for traders to share and sell their wares, and now the once pop ups have grown into multiple different flea market events regularly across London.
He said: “Its unexpected when you go to a flea market, and unlike the high street you find people’s personal passions.
“There used to be a lot more markets like this, but now there’s more of an emphasis on food and crafts, and it’s quite unusual to find places like this, where people are selling items that are more personal to them.”
