A Catford artist is on a quest to draw every single pub in London – all 3,500 of them.
TikTok viral Lydia Wood, 30, has launched ‘The Pub Project’ which celebrates the diversity of pubs across the city, from gastro to tourist favourite to traditional local.
Starting as an art teacher, Wood’s following grew online during lockdown, when she decided to make the Pub Project her full time job.
Having already drawn around 300 pubs, she predicts it could take another 27 years to complete the project.
At the start of August from the Conquering Hero, a pub in Upper Norwood (which features a resident pub garden pig!), Wood shared what inspired her to start the project and how she is fostering connections with London communities.
