Greenwich residents are campaigning for Transport for London (TfL) to fix Cutty Sark DLR stations broken escalators.
All four escalators at the station have been out of action since October, leaving commuters with a choice between 121 steps up to the exit or queuing for a small lift.
Campaigners have launched a petition and are calling on TfL to produce a timetable as well as a budget for the replacement of the escalators.
Maureen O’Mara, one of the leading voices in the protest movement, said: “This is not a good service for local people.
“They deserve to use the escalators here. We think it is unsafe as well.”
Docklands Light Railway general manager Tom Page apologised to commuters and promised a timetable for the renovation in the near future.
