Planned closures and disruptions on TfL this bank holiday weekend

TfL have announced planned closures and disruptions over this weekend’s bank holiday.

Here’s everything you need to know before travelling.

National Rail

During Network Rail re-signalling work, there will be no Southern rail or Gatwick Express services to/from Victoria between Saturday 30 April and Monday 2 May.

For East Croydon and stations between Gatwick Airport and Brighton, use Thameslink services from Blackfriars.

Use Southern rail services from London Bridge for other destinations.

Thameslink and Southern tickets will be accepted on the Tube between Victoria and Blackfriars/London Bridge/Balham.

There is no Northern line service through London Bridge until mid-May, so commuters will have to use alternative Tube, rail or local bus services.

For local journeys a replacement bus service will be running. Southeastern services are not affected by these works.

London Underground

There is planned strike action every Friday and Saturday night on the Central and Victoria lines between 8:30pm and 4:29am the following morning until Sunday 19 June. 

On the Bakerloo line from Saturday 30 April until Monday 2 May there is no service between Stonebridge Park and Harrow & Wealdstone.

You must use alternative Tube or rail replacement bus services.

On Sunday 1 May the Central line will not stop at Bank, commuters must use St Paul’s or Liverpool Street Stations and walk or use local bus services.

Circle line will not stop at Monument on Sunday so you must use Cannon Street station.

On the District line, on Saturday 30 April until Monday 2 May there will be no service between Tower Hill and West Ham so you must use alternative Tube, DLR, local or rail replacement buses.

There will also be no service between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon but rail replacement buses will run.

On Sunday 1 May trains will not stop at Monument so you must use Cannon Street.

There will be no service on the entire Hammersmith and City line from Saturday 30 May until Monday 2 May.

Until mid May 2022 there will be no service between Kennington and Moorgate on the Northern line.

On the Piccadilly line until Spring 2022 trains will not stop at South Kensington but the Circle and District lines will continue to stop and the station will remain open.

London Overground

On Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May there is no service between Euston and Watford Junction after 09:45 on Saturday and all day Sunday.

On Monday 2 May there is no service all day between Willesden Junction and Watford Junction. You must use alternative rail replacement bus services.

TFL Rail

On Sunday 1 May there is reduced service between Liverpool Street and Gidea Park from 11:30 until 22:30. Trains will run every 15 minutes.

There is reduced service between Paddington and Heathrow and trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, West Ealing and Hanwell from 08:00.

Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes.

No TfL Rail, Heathrow Express or Great Western Railway services between Paddington and Heathrow T5 until 06:30, and between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 08:00.

DLR

There is reduced service between Bank and Shadwell so you must use DLR services to/ from Tower Gateway.

Buses and Roads

Southwark Park

The Eid Al-Fitri event will take place at Southwark Park from 10:00 until 19:00.

Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Twickenham Rugby Stadium

The Army v Navy rugby matches will take place this Saturday.

Kick off is at 14:00 and 16:30. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Ride the Night London 2022

The overnight charity cycle ride will take place from 21:00 until 05:00 on Saturday, starting and finishing in Windsor.

The route will pass through central London, Fulham and Putney.

Southall Park

The Southall Vaisakhi Mela will take place this Sunday between 11:00 and 19:00. 

Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Big Fun Walk 2022

The Big Fun Walk 2022 will take place from 12:00 until 15:00 on Sunday.

The route will begin at Hampstead Heath and will finish in central London.

Large crowds are expected.

Vitality Westminster Mile

The Vitality Westminster Mile will take place this Sunday from 08:00 until 17:00.

A race will take place within the roads of St James’ Park starting on The Mall before finishing outside Buckingham Palace.

Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Vitality London 10000 2022

Road closures in central London will be in place between 08:00 and 17:00 on Monday for the Vitality London 10k Run.

Larger than normal crowds and possible traffic delays are expected on the diversion routes around the closures.

Until Friday 6 May part of the Hammersmith bus station will be closed until 18:00 because of improvement works around Hammersmith Gyratory.

Santander Bikes

The following docking stations are suspended this weekend

Cadogan Gardens, Chelsea

Chepstow Villas, Notting Hill

Denyer Street, Knightsbridge

Prince Consort Road, Knightsbridge

Rossmore Road, Marylebone

Seymour Place, Marylebone

Westfield Library Corner, Shepherd’s Bush
